Autumn’s cool temperatures and shortened daylight hours signal the growing dominance of Yin. Turning inward. We see it all around us. Trees shed their leaves, preparing for the winter to come. Fall is the perfect time to let go of things which no longer serve us.
In this workshop, Cindy will guide you through a deeply nourishing Yin Yoga practice designed to address the special challenges Fall presents to our health. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) associates the Lung and Large Intestine channels with autumn. Taking in and letting go are characteristics of these organs. They are the most vulnerable during this season. Cindy will weave TCM wisdom for immunity, vitality, and emotional wellness into the asana practice, teaching you acupressure points to strengthen immunity and decrease pain, to help with allergies, cold and flu symptoms, to regulate digestion, and to calm the mind. You’ll also receive lifestyle guidance regarding diet and suggestions for ways of letting go this Fall.
Yin Yoga is a gentle, floor based practice of deep stretches held for several minutes. Accessible and approachable even for those who have never practiced yoga. Yin Yoga cultivates the art of being and acceptance of things outside of our control. Come experience how staying in tune with the rhythm of the season can create harmony, well-being, and inner peace.
